Job Description

Magnus & Wolf are recruiting for a Data Manager. 

The role will assume responsibility for the management of the Data and Applications team and work with clients to understand their business challenges and identify how Data & AI can add strategic value to drive business success. 

The ideal candidate will be extremely motivated to lead a team in a hybrid and collaborative environment, engage with clients and stakeholders, and to manage deliverables ensuring that project commitments are met on time and to the highest standard.

● £90,000

● London – Hybrid – 2 days a week in office

The Role 

● Proficiency in Python or R and familiarity with big data technologies and cloud platforms 

● Experience managing a Microsoft SQL Server environment

● Familiar with statistical packages for analysing datasets (e.g. Excel, SPSS, SAS) 

● Expert at creating and maintaining dashboards and reports to monitor key performance indicators 

● Able to translate complex analytical insights into actionable recommendations, presenting them to clients/stakeholders/ Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to inform critical business decisions 1 

● Oversee the entire software lifecycle for data management systems, ensuring compliance with industry best practices and development standards 

● Collaborate with development teams, providing technical guidance and strategic direction to ensure robust, scalable solutions 

● Drive the vision and roadmap for integrating AI technologies into data processes 

The Person

● A consulting background 

● Experience of working with Tableau (or Power BI, Looker, Qlik)   

● Experience working with relational databases and advanced SQL querying 

● Experience working with Data Warehousing (Snowflake, Databricks SQL, Redshift) 

● Degree in computer science or mathematics, or equivalent experience 

● Excellent numerical and analytical skills 

● High level of industry and business acumen   

● Proven ability to drive change and inspire innovation within a technical team 

● Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines 

● Experience managing demanding clients and aligning technical deliverables with business needs 

● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation, from junior analysts to members of the SLT
